CHERRY HILL, NJ (SBN) — The best way to get big corporate influence out of American elections might be to empower individual citizens with grants of “voter dollars” that they can decide to donate to the candidates that best reflect their own preferences, according to author Dan McMillan, the guest on this edition of SBN Newsmakers.
McMillan, the author of a 2014 book, How Could This Happen: Explaining the Holocaust, argues that, “Voter Dollars literally puts the coin of political influence into the hands of every registered voter. We’ll get better candidates – fellow Americans from all walks of life who want to serve us instead of taking orders from corporate interests.”
On his website, SaveDemocracyInAmerica.org, McMillan provides tools and strategies for grassroots organizations to join the effort to develop the Voter Dollars model.
In a wide-ranging interview with SBN News Director Steve Lubetkin, McMillan discussed how the Holocaust was made possible by authoritarian trends that swept Germany after World War I, and explains in detail his Voter Dollars model. You can watch the interview in the player below or on the SBN Newsmakers app on the Roku Streaming TV service.
