March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month marking the perfect opportunity to discuss colorectal cancer prevention. This is increasingly important as it is one of the fastest-growing cancers, and the American Cancer Society predicts 106,180 new cases of colon cancer this year. Additionally, young adults with colon cancer are increasingly at risk and are just as likely to die from the disease as older people – in some cases, maybe even more likely. As the third leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., prevention for this disease is vital.

Dr. Larry Doroshow, the guest on this episode of SBN Newsmakers, discusses diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.

Dr. Doroshow is affiliated with Constitution Physicians Alliance (CPA) and is a provider specializing in family medicine and hospice and palliative care. Dr. Doroshow is the board chairman of CPA and is on the staff of Roxborough Memorial and Chestnut Hill hospitals. He is also a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic medicine where he graduated from in 1983. Dr. Doroshow has been in practice in Philadelphia for more than 35 years.
