Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and Husband Mark Kelly Campaign for Andy Kim in Third Congressional District

MOORESTOWN, NJ—(SBN)—Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, campaigned in Moorestown yesterday for Democratic congressional candidate Andy Kim, who is seeking to unseat Rep. Tom MacArthur, a Republican and strong supporter of President Trump. Giffords and Kelly urged the rally attendees to vote in November to unseat MacArthur, who has a high rating from the National Rifle Association for his legislative support for looser gun regulation.

Gifford, who was seriously wounded in a shooting in 2011, has become, with her husband, a national advocate against gun violence.

Clarification, 5/9/2018, 12:06 p.m.: Ryan T. Carney, a spokesman for Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-03), says MacArthur did not author legislation to provide holders of concealed-carry gun permits with reciprocal rights across state lines, but was actually a co-sponsor of the legislation.
