FORT MONMOUTH, NJ—(SBN)—Redevelopment activities at the former US Army base at Fort Monmouth, in Monmouth County, NJ, were covered in a multimedia news package SBN produced for GlobeSt.com.
SBN previously reported that it was providing news content for GlobeSt.com, and news director Steve Lubetkin is providing reporting and editing services as GlobeSt.com’s New Jersey and Philadelphia correspondent.
Lubetkin and SBN spent a day at Fort Monmouth, interviewing officials of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) and Cushman & Wakefield, which is the exclusive marketing agent for the two-square-mile military facility straddling the towns of Eatontown, Tinton Falls, and Oceanport.
In addition to editorial copy and still photographs, we produced the video news wrapper about the base below. This video is also embedded in the story page on GlobeSt.com.
The story package also included an exclusive look at an unusual work of art that may not survive the coming demolition of the building in which it is located. A Mayan style mural painted by nuclear researcher Dr. Stanley Kronenberg inside his radiation detection laboratory may not be saved because engineers have not found an effective way to preserve just one of the facility’s 40-inch thick walls. The mural will be photographed digitally for preservation purposes.
